Not downplaying the dangers and challenges of AGI, but it's funny how every expert in every field researched by man has discovered the end of humanity is coming and nobody outside their field is paying enough attention. The sky is falling! Wolf! Wolf! Wolf! What will all us lamplighters do? What will all us horseshoe blacksmiths do? What will all us pocket watch makers and repairmen do? What will all us steam locomotive engineers do? The end is nigh! Repent! 1999 is the end! Y2K is the end! The comet coming is the end! Women voting will bring the anti-christ! Allowing black men to own land will bring the anti-christ! We'll have Martians in 2010! We'll have cross-country bored tunnels in 2012! World-wide self-driving cars by 2014!
