Hot take, but admitedly, it's not like information on art is incredibly readily available. I feel like I can learn nuclear physics much better online than art itself and I don't put that lightly. This is not a pro AI argument btw, it's just that when I see these "art tutorials" I am left going "Did I miss a step". I have seen "Pikats" videos and their fucking tutorials on anatomy assume a lot of things. It's like that programming tutorial meme that ends with creating minecraft, I am just left with a "what?" In my head. Example. Take construction. I have tried so hard to decypher construction for a full month and I gave up. I've tried more analytical approachs beyond "vibes" and they never look right. I am more than aware the paradox of over focusing on small details, but goddamn it. The only reason I am going through fundamentals by draw a box is because I suddenly one day wanted to design a character with my own style... Which led me to a rabbit hole of fundamentals like anatomy. My fucking arm hurts from drawing 3d planes with as straight of a line as I can, while the big boys are whipping characters like the average monday. I get it, I am comparing a sizable skill gap, a dangerous precedent that worsens when you compare with age, but nobody in their right mind is interested in nuclear physics except me, but everyone is of drawing. At that point this kinda comparison is like comparing a niche piece of art with a mainstream one. Yes I am salty. No I haven't used AI art and the only thing barring me from using it is out of sheer principle, which wains with my impatience.
