Creative work is a continuum. There is no difference in kind between using Photoshop to create a gradient fill and using Midjourney to create an image. In both cases you're using a tool to produce a result you couldn't execute manually.
Generating AI art requires much less training and practice than traditional techniques, but it's not zero. We've been progressively accepting generated elements in art (synth arpegiators, for another example) for decades. You're never going to be able to draw a bright line between tech-assisted art that does or does not count as creative work by a human. The discussion must be more nuanced than that.
