Just stop! Stop with this absurd, specious, false-choice trope that we will somehow be overthrown by China if we don't keep pushing forward with AI and beat them. There are plenty of things China does to gain themselves economic and cultural advantages, but that we, as a nation, have decided cannot happen in America-- slave labor, mass internment, 100% population surveillance, social credit, forced abortions and organ harvesting...etc. AI is just one more for that list. There is zero reason why we should not ban it outright in the United States, just like we ban all those other things.
