I am mortified I have a 38 year old son who has dual diagnosis (a mental health issue and addiction issues) he has been clean and sober for 7 years now lives independently . I have been a key person in supporting him in every way. He has no friends. I worry and I've warned him about the recent findings with chatbots. More recently he has declared our relationship is codependent and is interfering with his autonomy. I've always thought it was a therapeutic relationship I'm an RN. As well. More recently he declared he needs "space" I've respected his request and his view and decided he will call eventually. Haven't heard from him.
