I mean, the entire point of "growth" is better standards of living. The economy generates more goods, more cheaply such that the poorest can have what the wealthy only used to be able to afford. This progression hasn't changed in centuries. The global economy is just so large now that it seems incomprehensible that we could ever need that much. But generally people want everything that is being produced, so you're going to have to tell the low income person we're no longer going to be able to make cheap flat screens. Good luck with that. Plus growth doesn't always mean doing more with more, it also includes doing more with less.
