I am actively trying to get more people to draw and create things. Where I work, I will put out index cards and pencils, and ask those who come in to the shop if they could draw for me [SUBJECT]. Very often the response is, "Oh, I'm no good at drawing" to which I tell them that I don't care about it's quality. I'm not asking to see how good at art you are, I am asking in an effort to encourage people to draw. But even moreso, I want to see what you create. I want to see how you take my prompt and interpret it in a way only you could think of. I gave people the prompt "Space" last week. That's it. some drew black holes, others starry skies and planets, a few drew aliens and flying saucers. I got one person who drew an entire diagram of a black hole with labels of the various parts. I had someone appear to be drawing for five minutes and then handed it back completely blank. Someone drew two people standing far apart. AI could render something like each of these, given proper input and description. But it could never do what those 30 or so people did in that store that day, especially not with just using the single word "Space" as its prompt.
