AI is not a Lovecraftian monster.
Nor is it conscious.
Nor does it have free will.
But it does reflect our fears, and that makes it seem like one. Lovecraft wrote horrors to show how small we are in the universe.
AI doesn't want to do that…
but by existing, it reminds us.
