I wonder how anyone can think AI can eliminate 99% of jobs; the expert who only sees his own field and the person you meet on the street have the same ability to analyze it.
Talking about total automation by 2027 seems pure madness to me.
First of all, it's as if the world were a single city; does this also apply to rural areas, according to the expert? According to him, will everything related to forestry, agriculture, or livestock farming be automated? Madness. According to him, will the maintenance of electromechanical systems be totally automated? Madness. According to him, will C3PO replace the plumber who replaces your sink pipe?
These people should think about their jobs and why technicians aren't "normally" consultants.
Where can AI be used and where will it destroy jobs? Probably in its field, including office jobs, which is why he's so paranoid.
I predict that 90% of manual labor will remain intact. Specialize in crafts, agriculture, livestock farming, forestry maintenance, tourism, culture, sports, and anything manual.
However, remember that a machine is a machine, it's subject to errors and bugs, and it's not capable of self-repair (I want to see how an AI can unsolder a capacitor or even simply change a light bulb).
These are classic barroom discussions, from a working class highly expert in their field but completely ignorant of the world at large, the usual Elon Musks drunk on their importance at this juncture in time.
These discussions may have been valid for 200 years, not now. Most jobs are manual and analog, most of the world's factories work with the sweat of people, and rest assured, they'll remain intact.
Where will it wreak havoc? Programmers, logistics, accounting, and everything else that has to do with computers today. Perhaps this will help AI save us time and money and allow us to devote ourselves to more ethical and healthy jobs. Do you know which job will definitely not disappear, but which our expert thinks already don't exists? Barbers.🤣🤣🤣🤣
PS: Want to know what job I'M SURE WON'T DISAPPEAR, and that Americans should know about? War.
