Some people must be born with yellow blood, because the pro-AI people seem to be scared of even trying, or scared of themselves. As a writer who started at about 15, it took a lot of my soul to create an entire fantasy world in my head for a book that I still haven't finished, and rewrote several times because it "didn't feel right." I gave up on the original treatment because I thought I had run out of ideas, and when I finally decided to try and publish, I got discouraged because I got rejected by every publisher I tried, and when I took it to a published author for critique, got even more discouraged because I realized that a lot of my rewritten novel didn't make a lick of sense... and then I just stopped writing all together. For about 10 years, this went on, and I got to the point where I thought my ideas were stupid, childish, problematic and potentially boring. But, then that changed one day when I was sitting in my apartment, bored out of my mind between workdays. Video games, my second love, had lost their appeal, and I'd been through so many breakups it was depressing, so I pulled out my laptop and went to work on a new concept, based on the old story, but from a different approach, but didn't like that one either, so I shelved it. I have been rewriting the first draft of the story for the past year after going through a rough marriage for four years, and recently, I have realized that my fear of failure was what was stopping me, not the original concept. The world can still be beautiful, if only those who envy would try.
