1) Irrelevant question. When vehicles emerged we didn't ask what would happen to all the buggy whip manufacturers, nor should we have. None of us are entitled to earnings on our work, we have to earn them by providing value. My job will likely be one of the first to go and it's on me to find other ways of producing value.
2) It's absurd to suggest that machine learning being inspired by prior works is stealing any more than any other producer of art. Nearly every work of art is derivative of prior works and styles. Very few original ideas have ever existed and we all stand upon the shoulders of the giants before us.
