The whole dystopian idea is BS; it's not going to happen for a very long time. Here's why. New and different jobs will be needed. Also, it will be a long time before AI and robots can replace a lot of trades. I can't wait for the day a robot can mow my lawn, rake leaves, diagnose and repair my plumbing, electrical, roofing, etc. And DO IT RIGHT. AND THESE ARE SIMPLE TASKS. The tasks at my job, ie running wire, installing devices all over a building, etc. are much more complex than the house tasks. Yes, the "easy" jobs of sitting all day doing work on the computer will disappear, but there is still a shortage of plumbers, electricians, etc. and they re way too expensive. People will find other work, even if more difficult and less desirable rather than starve- remember that. And it takes time to learn new skills, which people will do. BTW, when a robot comes out that can do all the handyman skills, I'll be the first to buy it.
