Raw LLM Responses

I'm currently pursuing a degree in data science. Professionals who poise themselves up on the idea a convolutional neural network is akin to making advances towards AI is being disingenuous at best. The same way people are touting that ChatGPT is a breakthrough. Neither of these models is genuinely capable of doing anything but creating uniquely put together amalgamations of their training data and they *know* that. To say they're just optimistic and naive is next to bold face lying and should be an indicator of the type of emotional strings these large companies will try to pull on. I want you to consider this. Thus far the only AI that have come out are ones that are unable to draw new conclusions, connect the dots, or reason and logic in any form. What they can do is throw together really polished piles of their training set. That's it. So ChatGPT can automate a chunk of white-collar employees day-to-day duties, increasing productivity, requiring less hours to produce the same work, requiring smaller teams, is cost-effective and overall boosts companies' bottom lines. That same AI is totally incapable of pushing us forward technologically, aiding in the discovery of new technology or anything else you might consider "rolling the ball forward". So it's *great* for businesses and is neutral or economically detrimental for the working class. Microsoft just laid off their AI ethics and safety committee guys! You think they give a rats ass about us? I'm not saying Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos are evil by extension of their wealth and are out shooting poor people. I'm saying they're apathetic at best about the plight they cause us in pursuit of their profit margins. Hell, Apple opted to put up suicide nets around their sweatshops in China as opposed to increasing wages or making working conditions better. Anyone who fools themselves into thinking these highly wealthy CEO's and business leaders care about them is being woefully negligent. This wave of AI doesn't contribute anything meaningful to the progression of society and primarily benefits companies and their owners. Per usual.
