People deny death is coming quite soon for all of us and we know our lives are quite short at 40 healthy adult years - how could anyone question the desirability of living for hundreds of years instead of just dozens? Longevity is the next great 'killer app' and far more valuable than AGI or battlefield drones. Yet it gets little research and almost no investment. It is obvious achievable low hanging fruit compared to perfecting a humanoid robot. Longevity is certainly marketable - who wouldn't buy it? You'd take out a mortgage for 20 more healthy years of you as you were at 30, right?
