I just cannot understand why anyone would do anything like this. I am asexual so the power of the sexual drive mystifies me. I know people say the underlying driver is power, but it’s the power to make people submit to your sexual will, so it’s about sex. Because in a way everything is about power - any intersection between two things (it doesn’t even have to be living things) is about power in some sense. So it’s the common denominator in everything, so it cancels out. Anyway, I just don’t understand what is going on. What do people get out of hurting others? There are some antisocial feelings that I understand, and I don’t do them because of my conscience. Like, I get wanting to steal. Getting something for free is all benefit, no cost, so it’s a rational decision. But I don’t steal no matter how much it may benefit me because it’s wrong and I don’t want to get caught, punished, and ruined for it. But I just have never felt the urge to do stuff like this - I think most women don’t. So what is it with some men and the violent use of the sex act (be it sa, revenge porn, molca, or these deep fakes) - is the want for their object of sexual desire that strong that it literally overpowers all other thought? It’s not inherent to being a man since I wish to believe more than half of men don’t do shit like this. So what causes this behavior in some men? Sorry this is a rambling mess, but I am just so confused.
