Another major and perhaps unsurmountable problem is the fact that it's all based on hardware principles that will never allow for any sort of emergent consciousness or even multidimensional processing. Computers are calculators. They are too far removed from how biological brains work. If we're going to build a true AGI it's going to have to be akin to our brains, in which case, it's no longer an artificial intelligence, but a real one.
