it's not about racism. as AI continues to be integrated into our everyday lives, it can't be exclusionary. imagine if apple face IDs didn't work for black people because datasets aren't trained on their faces. they wouldn't have access to the feature! if we integrate face ID into our surveillance, passports and whatnot, we don't want misidentification or faces just unable to be identified!
