This is one of the actual dangers of ai, not the ai itself but people not competent to use them. People that don't understand their limitations or behaviour.
We can laugh at the lawyers, but this has nothing to do with lawyering and can happen in any field.
Just wait till we get the first instance of a doctor doing this or an architect.
Let's just be happy this instance didn't kill anyone.
And don't think it will ever happen to you. So many people taking a shortcut did so with the best intentions. Who knows how busy the layers were(or incompetent). What stress they were under. It's not a real excuse, but it is a warning.
