How this will play out - Ai and robots will replace all human jobs that don't require innovative thinking. Companies won't sell product, so they'll be forced to give it away for practically nothing. It won't matter, because their only real cost will be electricity.
Humans will be required to spend a certain amount of time, each week, working together and with Ai to develop solutions for lowering electric costs or eliminating it completely. Everything will be given for free as the payment. From that point, we'll need to figure out ways to gain more resources to sustain this, long-term. Which likely will come from space and ocean exploration.
In the short-term, though, people will struggle. They will grow restless. There will probably be fighting and death. Until people give in and accept the trade-off. They will have control, and people will live for free. We'll have to see how much they abuse the power, when the time comes.
