The biggest problem with every one of the list of 7 things to do to AI proof your design career requires that you are ALREADY A CREATIVE DIRECTOR. I don’t know a single seasoned and skilled problem solving creative director who got to where they are without first going through the grunt work jobs under senior designers and creative director mentors. NOT ONE. So how is anyone new going to break in to the industry when there’s no entry level? In coming years who’s going to replace retiring skilled problem solving directors? In the short and medium term the job market is going to be brutal for even seasoned directors as senior designers and junior directors get laid off with their teams. This feels like an extinction level event for all creatives.
