In my humble opinion, referencing from AI art doesn't seem like a bad thing. No one made that AI artwork. That artwork took seconds to minutes to make and is originally ripped off art style from other artists that the AI was trained to learn. Now, tracing directly from the AI image and trying to mimic the art style too seems a bit much - overkill and too obvious. All it takes is lining up the image and anyone with eyeballs can see it was traced practically line by line. Use AI like it was meant to be; a tool to help improve your work. Use it as a pose reference (character art) or as different ways to see a singular scenario (background illustrations). Hell, you can use AI to color pick and build up a whole new piece. Take the tools and expand from it, grow, make it more than what it is. Referencing is not a bad thing. Tracing is. If you are just learning and keeping everything personally done, studies if you were, than trace away. But don't claim it as your own work. Don't try to make profit off of stolen goods.
