The thing that I'm struggling to understand is how AI using data and producing images based on it is different from a human taking inspiration and producing images based on that. Most of this AI isn't capable of recreating a piece of art perfectly. That's not what it's designed to do, either. Algorithms have both input and output. Humans just put more originality and soul into it. Calling AI "art" is honestly misleading, because art requires intent. What AI creates mimics art, it's "art" minus the human element of intent and personality. Which can be detrimental in some ways, but I wouldn't call it plagiarizing art. Humans pull from experience, AI pulls from datasets. Both create something new, but one is a shell imitating the other. I don't get what the fundamental difference is other than that.
