I’m a mechanical engineer / welder fabricator to be specific. Currently we have a new welding automation robot that will eventually have some form on ai intelligence in my opinion based on the software. I’m 26. A number of my Co workers, much older, fear that robots are round the corner to completely replace us, aside from a specific level of maintenance. What I’m struggling to come to terms with is, should I continue to pursue my current career, (continuing to grow my portfolio along the way) or be looking to split my time more effectively to keep the belief that “I am in replaceable currently”? Ignorance is bliss in a sense but I’m also too much of a logical and emotional person for my own good to not wonder, “what more is there, what more should or could I be doing while also being self aware of my current intellectual level?” - big reach but anyone with anything to add I would appreciate the consult 🙇🏽‍♂️😁 (Firm believer in two heads are better then one)
