At the end of the day, the biological brain is nothing more than a biological computer that can gather data from its surroundings, store it, evaluate it and compare new data with existing data. Biologists have recently found structures in our brains which basically have the same function as logic gates in processors, so OR-, AND-, XOR-Gates, etc.
I think the reason we are self-aware is that we can recognize our own bodies as an active part of this universe by using our senses.
For example: If an AI generates an Image based on a text prompt, refiner, negative promps, etc. - then isn't this image a completely new and uniqure product of art? Because at the end of the day, a human artist does nothing different: He has an idea, certain tools and his own personal touch (similar to the AI algorithm) which is based on his experiences, other peoples works, etc and based on those factors, he creaets a piece of art.
Therefore the question arises: Can a neural network based on artificial "neurons" can gain the same type of self-consciousness?
