Generative "AI" shouldn't be used at all (not even "as a joke") because corrupt corporate execs want it to put artists and writers out of jobs. Artists and writers are already losing jobs. Yes, we count, and it's already bad. No need to wait until you lose your "real job."
When you said "an author" tells an AI to write a book for them ... that's not an author. That's someone typing a prompt into a plagiarism generator.
It might seem like a fun "harmless" gimmick, like eating junk food. But it harms you and everyone else. It's a terrible thing, full stop.
