Absolutely captivating and important video as per usual. Love this channel to death. I find it interesting however (and rather sad I might add), that we're so certain, so sure that A.I. would see nothing worth preserving of the human race. That, in all it's intelligence gathering and immense power, it would simply dismiss us as obsolete and useless. I fear we're merely projecting our own collective self-consciousness, and not really looking at a more universal picture. In this late information age, far past the dawn of computing and machinery, we've certainly learned to devalue the human being as nothing much more than a cog in the wheel, or a slave. It's like we're bred to believe that our only value, is in what we can produce given our circumstances. Perhaps it's the ruthless competition, or the constant bombardment of fictitious ideals and standards we can never live up to, or the divisive culture that's ripped us apart, journal by journal... that's made us so careless with one another. I, for one, believe that we're actually on the cusp of breaking through to our next evolution; not by transhumanistic alterations and the melding of mind and machinery, but by an existential understanding of who we are, where we come from, and just how capable we are when we realize the sky's the limit. Imagine the optimized mind, body, and soul... levitating, telekinetically moving objects, telepathically communicating across space; capable of self healing and regrowth, instant comprehension, indescribable physical feats... just as we were always meant to be. But with an entire history of experience and understanding to guide us ethically and morally, so that we would be righteous and just. Perhaps, this will be the ultimate test of humanity, and A.I.'s rising awareness the catalyst of cataclysmic proportion we need to finally wake up.
