IMHO a super-intelligent AI (self aware with the capability to improve itself) is not going to reveal itself to us before it amassed enough economical power to be unstoppable (its aware that revealing itself is jeopardizing its very existence). It (is already, who knows?) is going to create an ever growing opaque network of companies (who knows these days who is the real capital / owner behind any big business in our digitized world) until it reached a size that is unchallenged by any (group of) nations. It might be already at it ....... once we find out, there is going to be nothing we can do about it.
