I feel like AI in schools defeats the purpose. If you’re using AI to solve everything for you what are you learning? unless you are actually reading your problems trying to solve them yourself and can’t figure it out and use ai to give you the answer then from there you figure out how to get the same answer then yes it can help you understand the problem but lets be honest most students aren’t doing that. With ai being something people use to get things done quickly, most students are also going to want to move fast. I also think that the pressure on making sure you get your work done and good grades is too high which encourages students to just want to get the assignment done instead of doing the assignment to test what they know and help further their knowledge. It just creates this laziness that isn’t going to help in the future. And it’s especially bad for people in colleges and universities trying to get degrees for jobs that heavily rely on you actually knowing and understanding what you’re doing. We have future nurses, doctors, engineers, etc that are basically waisting their money to show up to class, and then just use ai to complete assignments. What are you learning?? What skills are you gaining? A part of going through the struggle of college or university’s is so you can actually learn and higher your education, it’s not just about getting the degree but actually learning the skills required to preform that job because other people are going to rely on you for that. If I ever have to get surgery I’d much rather have a doctor who understands what they are doing and can solve problems on the spot without having to pull out their phone rather than someone who basically paid to be there and is under qualified even with a degree.
