My job is 100% safe. I do house calls and fix appliances. The ai would have to be nearly clone level for it to be a problem in my field. I don’t think it would be cost efficient to build an ai that can drive to houses, deal with various setups that sometimes require you to be creative with diagnosing/breaking down the machine + sometimes even climbing on or behind things, negotiating price with customer for the job, look up and order parts, etc.
With a job at a physical location it would be way easier to program multiple jobs in a controlled environment. Just the driving and various situations that might require strength (moving appliances) and agility (getting behind/around/climbing) would be a fortune to develop a robot that can handle that alone. Plus fixing appliances can easily be translated into fixing ai robot skills. Chances are I’ll just be busier with ai
