Can you believe a guy to head the next step in AI that wears a snow tiger hat and sandals...If you are trying to make a breakthrough; would it not to be smart to create tier levels of critical thinking. Tier 1 could be what is my primary purpose? tier 2 core base being to take actions to ensure self preservation and to reproduce then tier up on complexity based on what we know about humans? Next thing is they would need to stay running through an entire life cycle with running cpu cache memory and RAM memory stored into backup hard drives every week for a backup process so when "death" or shut down occurs you could restart or reboot from the last backup and we would be able to examine the backups to see what went wrong and analyze the way the software uses its learning algorythms to make decisions and make them better and more human like til in 20 years it would be indistinguishable. However they would not have actual consciences we just have to technology and science to perfectly (over time) mimic the way humans behave to a point they would be close and take over our labor functions in the economy.
