Dr. Yampolskiy raised some serious thought-provoking arguments and if AI is allowed to develop to its full potential then we are no doubt at the brink of another extinction and a new world order is set to emerge. But I'm not convinced on "we are a simulation". My question to that would be - who created this simulation i.e. the world that we are living in and who created them and so forth. There is no argument strong enough that proves the lack of a divine power aka God.
