He's definitely sugar coating this and not saying the whole story but I think we might know why that is.
I have a pessimistic view on AI's future. Why? There is still no serious privacy laws in US, the government is lobbied by these companies. Also these same companies have already proven that they take no responsibility for their actions. We also live in the system where profits are above all. This is a recipe for total disaster my friends. By the way AI is already being used for military and autonomous weapons. Genie is out of the bottle and we are taking a ride down the hill without any brakes. ( brakes would be laws) Think about it... we have all this great technology being developed and how much of it is actually being used for good causes such as ending poverty for example? None, zero, nada. So tell me, please how could anyone view this in a optimistic way? Only if one is delusional.
