I had no idea Nanowrimo even had an organization behind it. I just knew try to write 50k words in November, submit it to the website for verification if you want to "officially" win. That's it. I didn't know there was anything beyond that. (I've entered 3 times and won 3 times, 2003, 2008 and 2014. It's tiring and I don't think I could win it again now that I'm old, so I'd like to keep my perfect record and not enter again.) Though regarding AI, I've experimented with and pretty quickly found something out: I write a paragraph in my head, then try to get AI to generate that exact paragraph I just thought up. I spent 4x the amount of time it'd take for me to write it down in a desperate attempt to get the AI to write it for me. (And usually give up and write it myself because I decide the AI can't handle it.) What the hell is the point of that? Why am I wasting so much time trying to get the AI to write something I've already written mentally? I don't know if everyone does it this way or not if they use AI, but it seems completely useless to me. It doesn't speed anything up, it slows you down exponentially. There is literally a 0% chance I'd be able to win NaNoWriMo if I used AI. It's too slow.
