I’m not sure whether AI art is actual art. However, I find it quite amusing that artists are using the “it’s taking our jobs!” argument. I sure remember the successive waves of automation and outsourcing being smugly dismissed by the same people with flippant lines like “learn to code” or “go back to school” as was the chant in the 90s. The machine was inevitable back then, but the uncultured rednecks didn’t heed their betters and do as they were told, so now they pay the price, and we don’t care. But when the machine came for the artists, journalists, and college-educated, well, this here is a travesty. An abomination. You uncultured rednecks typing in prompts and posting AI videos are inhuman, uncaring evildoers. Your factory job in 1995 wasn’t important, but my art in 2025 is supremely important.
Don’t get me wrong, I know it sucks. We working class folks know the fear, anxiety, and stress very well. But to demand the very people you ignore come to your rescue, miss me with that.
