Im a lot more optimistic about this. No one seems to be factoring in the explosion of new businesses that will come as a result of the advances in AI — and I dont mean ai tech businesses. A 27 yo will be able to develop a product without the need for an industrial design team or engeneer making it a lot more efficient and therefore comon to see business growing from an idea; to the point where they need to hire employees and lease a building in record time. I also believe AI might revamp local manufacturing regardless of tariffs. By dropping the cost of development, advertising and administration a company will be more likely to manufacture locally where they can control their production and advertise “made in the US” to a growing population that will value that lable. At the end it will look very similar to the rise of the internet. A lot of jobs got replaced thanks to the efficiency it brought but also thanks to that same technology new businesses, products and services started to appear, some of which were directly related to a web service and other just grew faster because of it. (Just think about how easier it is to start a NON tech businss today thanks to the tech tools that are available) it levels the playing field. Ai is likely to do the same. Human beings have a remarkable ability to adapt, and we will adapt. You are likely to be working at some point in a business that doesnt exist today on a product or technology that we cant even imagine. Free markets always correct themselves to the needs of the consumer. Always.
