I've been doing NaNoWriMo since 2003 and last year is the last time for me. I might do the equivalent of writing a novel in a month for my own satisfaction, but I won't be officially participating in NaNoWriMo anymore. When I heard about this, my first thought was that using generative AI to write your novel is cheating. The whole idea of NaNo is that it helps you get in the swing of things and get some writing done. Using generative AI to write a novel isn't a challenge. If you want to use AI, just use it but don't call it winning NaNoWriMo.
