Digital artists diluted the talent pool by not having to worry about getting their lines correct, colour mixes accurate, and being able to just click a few times to add shaders and effects that would normally take a lot of actual talent to mimic, having infinite retries at lines and colour without damaging the art because you can just click 'undo', so you never get good enough to learn how not to make those mistakes in the first place.
AI 'artists' are just the next step of the dilution process. Even less talented people wanting even quicker results, and the praise for those results. The higher the level of technology involved in creating art, the lower the talent required to make it.
