This all makes sense to me except for one step. IF we were in a simulation it wouldnt matter to create a super intelligence because there is a higher developed AI simulating this AI.
If we know we are not real why shouldn't we push this simulation to its end so this show has an end? Has a simulation the will to live? Is it even life if its only ones and zeros?
Sidenote: exactly this topic was brought up in a game I play. Honkai Starrail and while playing it I thought it was very creative and not close to the truth
