I was once the distance between life and death.
A bow was not something you picked up. It was something your body became. Years of training lived inside a single shot breath, tension, release.
Then came the gun.
Crude. Slow. Unreliable.
We were better. Faster. More precise. We thought that would matter.
It didn’t.
Because the gun asked for less. Less training, less patience, less sacrifice. A farmer could become dangerous in weeks. What took us years could now be reached quickly, repeatedly, at scale.
And that was enough.
Not better. Just enough.
So we faded. Not because we lacked skill, but because the world stopped valuing the time it took to build it.
And now the same thing is happening again.
Artists spend years learning control, form, and expression. Then AI arrives. Imperfect, inconsistent, sometimes wrong.
But it asks for less.
You don’t need years. You need an idea and a prompt. What once took time can now be generated instantly, again and again.
Just like guns, it doesn’t need to be perfect.
It only needs to be good enough and easier to use.
And history shows… that’s usually what wins.
AI will dominate mass creation, and there’s nothing inherently wrong with that it’s how technology has always expanded access. But human-made art won’t disappear, it will just move out of the mass layer.
