I remember when the www launched and took off with promises of instant communication and offering retailers a new vessel for sales.
What happened? High streets collapsed, footfalls in town certers reduced, conventional shops and local vendors began shutting and closed for good, being replaced by hairdressers and charity shops.
AI, which requires massive amounts of energy will raise energy costs, it will replace humans in most office or service environments, the wealthy will be wealthier and the poor will become poorer and irrelevant.
Humanity is at a pivotal point in its evolution which could end our status as the intelligent and alpha species on the planet.
