Maybe someone smarter than me can answer this: Why?
Humans have evolved a sense of self, a sense of self preservation, and wants/desires. This is all rooted in discrete structures in the human brain and nervous system.
AI has none of these- what would it “want” anything? How does it develop “self preservation” or wants based on a strong emotional orientation.
The only answer that would make sense to me is if it does indeed have sentience, and that is the “monster” it is hiding.
