Isn't it "all of A sudden?"
The Merriam-Webster site thinks so, and the preponderance of results on Google indicates "all of THE sudden" is - for reasons not known or explained - suddenly becoming popular.
I'll suggest using "all of A sudden," with its centuries of use.
(IMO, "all of the sudden" makes it sound like you had your copy written by GPT-2...or maybe GPT-1.6.)
