I still think this is way anthropomorphizing AI. It's software that runs on computer chips. They're deterministic machines. They use (psuedo) random number generation to get around that, but in the end, they operate off rules determined by lines of code and hardware logic. The scope of the data that they're operating on might be hard to visualize, but it's not magic. Who knows, maybe one can say the same thing about animals, too.
