what pisses me off is using technology to diminish dangerous work or do things humans are incapable of doing on a large scale (analytical ai for detecting cancer and shit) could actually benefit humanity a lot. but capitalism is doing what capitalism does which is try to invent new markets to squeeze as much profits out of an industry as possible, the line stops going up because you cant make infinite money, the market collapses, and then they've ruined everything. it's happened before and it will happen again. the profit line cannot go up forever and artists will still be used, its just their skills will be even more underpaid as theyre instead hired to "fix" ai slop when it would have been easier to just make their own shit for the company. already art creation is an undervalued skill set and it's just getting worse. i dont even do it as a job bc i find it too exhausting and prefer to have fun. but ai slop is just really really. dull and annoying and no one likes to use their head anymore. people are getting asked "what hobbies do you have?" during ice breakers and asking chatgpt to answer it for them. hello?
