Maybe what the government should allow is Universal Basic Income for basic living.
Zero Means Testing, meaning the UBI is NOT taken away because you cross a certain income or asset limit.
So, people on UBI can also find work that can't be automated, not for living, but because they want to do that work. Basically, it's a hobby. Someone gets paid for.
