I feel like you misunderstood the analogy with robots lifting weights. If we're talking specifically about high school and like freshman college seminars, the only point of writing and reading is to train you how to think. The product of the writing is irrelevant. If you use AI to write your papers, it is quite literally just outsourcing your training to the robot. Because the whole point of writing at that point in your life is just to get better at writing (and NOT to produce a great product in and of itself), you receive 0% of the benefit if you give it to a robot. If we're talking about someone who's writing articles or stories for money, then sure, maybe it's more like steroids (I still don't like the analogy, but its closer), but writing in high school is literally just training.
