In my opinion the human race just cannot handle having something as powerful as AI. We are to barbaric and selfish. If a human is given power there is an overwhelming probability that they will abuse it. Just look at human history, we have been killing each other over stupid shit since the dawn of our species. They thought that giving everyone access to education and information would bring the world together. We are in the age of information. Everyone has the whole of human knowledge at the tips of our fingers and yet we still slaughter each other. There are multiple wars in progress and more on the horizon. Human greed will never go away. I personally cant wait for the collapse. This society is rotting from the inside out. We need a HARD reset.
