It's not quite that simple. The main challenge with face recognition currently is pose angle. If someone turns their head slightly, it changes the relative displacement of most features in the image, hence computers often don't rely on that for the purpose of identification.
It's fairly impressive, but it has its limitations and we need to remember no machine learning technique demonstrates 100% accuracy.
