Thinking in terms of winners and losers in the work arena is surely thinking in terms of the old paradigm. If so many people lose their jobs that they can’t be effective consumers how do the producers, ie “the winners” make all this money.
If AI is going to increase productivity to incredibly high levels then perhaps the underfunded and underpaid sectors of the workforce like aged care, child care, environmental regeneration could be paid better and employ more people.
And how about valuing parenthood as an occupation so that both parents don’t have to slave their guts out to house and feed their children while they put them in childcare and hardly see them.
