The technology does not exist to make AI viable enough for it to think for itself aka sentient. That will take about 100 years and a paradigm shift in computing technology away from electronic based chips to phonics base on dynamic 3D interconnections. With the same paradigm shift is the underlining software constructed. Even quantum computers are not even close.
